INGREDIENTS NEEDED:

 

400 gms or 2 Cups Idli Recipe (1 Cup Water to grind it)

100 gms or ½ Cup Urad Ki Daal (1/2 Cup Water to Grind It)

1.5 tsp Salt

2 -3 tsp Sugar

2 tsp Baking Powder (flat)

½ Cup Sour Curd

oil for greasing

INSTRUCTIONS TO MAKE THE RECIPE:

IMPORTANT POINTS:

  • Keep the rice in hot water for 5 – 10 minutes before grinding
  • Make sure you have a fine paste
  • Donot open the lid while steaming

    Hello Bharat!! I love your recipes coz we cannot go wrong and the science behind the making. God bless you!!. I live in Seattle and the problem I face is fermentation of idly. I feel soda is not good for health. So can u please show a way in which I can ferment idly so it turns out fluffy and soft. I try fermenting the batter in an instant pot but the batter never rises. I don’t know where I am going wrong. I use 4:1 ratio of idli rice and urad daal. Dosa turns out superb but in idly if I use soda then it’s fine. Kindly help. Eagerly looking forward for your reply.kindly email me as well. Secondly can I use non dairy creamer while making your piazzza dough recipe. Thank you. Kindly help please.
